How to have a pet friendly house - Interior design for a home with animals

Having a pet doesn't mean you can't have a beautiful and comfortable house. Instead of banishing your pets in the yard, you can design your home so that it would be pet friendly.

"You can have a beautiful house and a pet, in the same time. The secret is chosing the right materials and to pay attention to your pet's needs. If a house is not suitable for a dog, it's not ok neither for kids or guests", says Julia Syabo, a New York Post editor and the writer of "Animal House Style: Designing A Home To Share With Your Pets".

First, take care of your pet's hygiene and clean your house...a lot. So, vacuum regularly and bathe and groom your pet as much as possible.

How to design a pet friendly house:

1. Use stain-resistent fabrics, like leather and Crypton

2. Use fabrics that can be washed a lot, like cotton




3. Don't use carpets, but if you really want to cover your floor, you can choose rugs, especially the ones that can be cleaned a lot

4. Choose hard surface floors: the best are the ceramic tiles, but you can choose hardwood, too, or even painted concrete, terrazzo and bricks

5. Offer your pet a lot of toys, so that he/she would chew them, and not the furniture or the accesories

6. Match your house colours to your pet's fur... the hair they leave behind won't be as visible any more

7. Match your pet's sleeping and relaxation place, as their beds, pillows and scratching posts, to your home design

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yo! Home, the 4-in-1 house: The studio that transforms into a four rooms apartment

Simon Woodroffe created a studio that transforms in a big house: there's only one room, but it can transform into four other rooms at the touch of a button.

The entrepreneur has created a studio that offers more space by hiding rooms into the walls, which appear at the touch of a button or the pull of a wall.

These hidden rooms are operated with 12 mechanical moving parts, that create 80sq m rooms in one single 80sq m room.

You can have a master bedroom, a simple bedroom, a living room, a cinema, a dining room, an office, a kitchen, a breakfast room, a bathroom, a party room and even a wine cellar.

The Yo! Home is the culmiation of seven years of design and development.

"Since the invention of the city centre apartment, we've never really re-invented it. YO! Home is that new invention", says Mr. Woodroffe.

The incredible home is inspired from the way experts manage stage mechanics on West End shows and from the principles of Japanese living, where the simple and adaptable layout of the rooms allows many activities to take place in the same space.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cel mai iubit stil de amenajare a casei: Shabby Chic

Shabby-chic este unul din stilurile cele mai iubite de amenajare interioară, mai ales de către femei, fiind unul extrem de confortabil şi de relaxat.

November's colour of the month...Chestnut Brown

It's nice to have a colour for every month of the year, if you like to change the design of your home. So, the Home and Garden Television (HGTV) picks a colour that fits to every month and they have just decided that November's colour of the month is the warm Chestnut Brown.

The HGTV Color Team says they've chosen this colour because it had them daydreaming of Thanksgiving turkeys, cozy cashmere sweaters, and rich leather sofas in front of a roaring fire.

They describe the Chestnut Brown as a hot chocolate with a pinch of cinnamon.
